Chelmsford College has been an institution of Further Education for over 40 years.  Based across 3 sites, programmes are offered at a range of levels on academic, professional and vocational disciplines to young adults and mature students. The College has a strong base of 16-18 year olds studying mainly full-time courses, with adult students studying for personal and work-related reasons.

The College has developed from an institution which supported the local engineering industry as a day release centre for apprentices to a general Further Education College that offers a wide range of courses to suit the needs of individuals and the local community.

In 2009 Chelmsford College achieved the highest rating among colleges in mid Essex in its Ofsted inspection and was graded as “Good”.
